Hi, my name is Wei and I’m excited to meet everyone!
Professionally, I have a mechanical engineering background from MIT. I spent the last 5 years shipping products in the problem space of office hydration, consumer humidification, factory automation... In my recent role at Bevi, I really enjoyed working with sales and product teams to figure out what customers actually need and how to then guide engineering to build the right thing. This is why I’m especially energized to join the Solutions Engineering team at Lumafield.
Outside of work, I like to cook, try new restaurants, read, play board games, calisthenics, and study history. I also enjoy speaking Cantonese/Mandarin, which are my mother tongues. If any of these speak to you, please reach out since these activities are always more enjoyable in groups!

Hi, my name is Wei! Super excited to join this extremely talented and diverse group!
Professionally, I have a mechanical engineering background from MIT and have tried a lot of different jobs in the last 5 years. Recently, I got to wear multiple hats at a series D hydration startup (Bevi) to support both engineering and product functions. Before that, I led development of a dozen humidifier products (that you can buy now in Walmart/CVS, Honeywell/Vicks brands) from concept to mass production with a CPG company. I also have experience mentoring high school students who wants to start businesses, consulting for early stage startups on business and product development strategy, and pulling my hair out to brainstorm business ideas that incentivizes sustainable user behaviors X reduces consumerism X high growth X highly profitable. At Yale, I would love to pivot into product management (ideally for hardware products) and start a business!
For fun, I like to cook, try new restaurants, read, play board game, try new machines in the gym, and studying business history. I also enjoy speaking in Cantonese/Mandarin, which is my mother tongue (I grew up in China and spent the last 20 years in NYC and Boston). If any of these speak to you, please say hi!
